Privacy Policy

BattleCommand is currently in early development. This policy will be expanded before any data collection begins.

What we collect

Nothing, today. The public website does not require an account and does not collect personal information. The game can be played without an account.

Future accounts

Optional accounts may later provide cloud saves and persistent AI identities. When that happens, this policy will describe what is stored and why.

**Last updated: 6 October 2026**

BattleCommand ("BattleCommand", "we", "us", or "our") is a strategy game and associated website and services currently in development.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we may collect, why we collect it, how we use it, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights available to you.

We aim to collect only information that is reasonably necessary to operate, secure, improve, and develop BattleCommand.

1. Who we are

BattleCommand is operated by Simon Carter.

For privacy-related questions, requests, or concerns, please contact us at:

Email: battlecommand.net@gmail.com

If BattleCommand is operated through a registered company, the company's registered name and appropriate contact details should be provided here.

2. Information we collect

  • Login and authentication information
  • Account status and preferences

BattleCommand may support authentication through third-party identity providers such as Google, Microsoft, Apple, or other OAuth providers.

When you use a third-party authentication provider, that provider may provide BattleCommand with information necessary to identify and authenticate your account, such as your email address, name, profile information, or provider-specific account identifier.

We do not receive or store your third-party provider password.

  • Number of AI requests
  • Token or usage measurements
  • Timing, success, failure, and error information associated with AI requests

AI usage information may be collected for operational monitoring, performance analysis, debugging, capacity planning, abuse prevention, and development of the BattleCommand service.

At this stage, AI usage statistics are **not used to charge players**. If this changes in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated before such processing is introduced where required.

Where possible, we use aggregated, anonymised, or minimised information for statistical purposes.

We do not intend to use website analytics to build advertising profiles of individual players.

2.6 Cookies and similar technologies

BattleCommand may use cookies or similar technologies.

Some cookies may be strictly necessary for the website or game to function, including authentication, session management, security, and other essential functionality.

Other cookies or similar technologies may be used for analytics or optional functionality where applicable.

Where consent is legally required, we will request consent before using the relevant technology and provide a way to withdraw that consent. Technically necessary cookies generally do not require consent.

We may use information for the following purposes:

  • To create and manage your account
  • To authenticate you
  • To keep you signed in
  • To save and restore game progress
  • To provide BattleCommand gameplay and services
  • To operate AI-powered gameplay features

We will not use personal information for purposes incompatible with those described in this Privacy Policy without providing appropriate information or obtaining consent where required.

4. Legal bases for processing

Where the GDPR or similar legislation applies, we process personal data using an appropriate legal basis.

Depending on the circumstances, this may include:

Performance of a contract

Processing may be necessary to provide BattleCommand and features that you have requested, such as account authentication, game saves, and gameplay functionality.

Legitimate interests

We may process information where necessary for legitimate interests such as:

  • Maintaining and securing BattleCommand
  • Preventing abuse and fraud
  • Debugging and improving the service
  • Understanding service performance
  • Protecting our systems and users

When relying on legitimate interests, we consider the impact on users and their privacy.

Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent.

Legal obligations

We may process information where necessary to comply with applicable laws or lawful requests.

5. Third-party service providers

BattleCommand may use third-party services to provide parts of the platform.

These may include services for:

  • Authentication and identity management
  • Hosting and cloud infrastructure
  • Database and data storage
  • AI model and API services
  • Website analytics
  • Error monitoring
  • Security and abuse prevention
  • Email or other communications

Where third parties process personal data on our behalf, we seek to use appropriate contractual and technical safeguards.

The specific providers used by BattleCommand may change as the service develops. Where required, this Privacy Policy or associated documentation will be updated accordingly.

6. AI service providers

Some BattleCommand gameplay functionality may send relevant game information and user interactions to third-party AI service providers.

We aim to send only the information necessary for the AI feature to operate.

We do not intentionally send passwords or authentication credentials to AI providers. Where practical, personal information will be minimised or excluded from AI requests unless it is necessary for the relevant feature. AI providers may process information according to their own terms and privacy policies, as well as the contractual arrangements in place with BattleCommand.

7. International data transfers

Some BattleCommand service providers may operate or process information outside your country or the European Economic Area (EEA).

Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, we will use appropriate safeguards where required by applicable data protection law. These safeguards may include adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, or other legally recognised transfer mechanisms.

8. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required by law. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information.

For example:

  • Account information: generally retained while your account remains active and for a reasonable period afterwards where necessary for security, legal, or operational purposes.
  • Game saves: retained while required to provide the game or until deleted by you, subject to applicable limitations.
  • Authentication and security logs: retained for a limited period appropriate to security and operational requirements.
  • AI usage statistics: retained for operational, statistical, and development purposes for as long as reasonably necessary.
  • Aggregated or genuinely anonymised statistics: may be retained for longer because they can no longer reasonably be used to identify an individual.

We aim to avoid retaining personal data indefinitely where it is no longer required.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, loss, or destruction.

These measures may include encryption in transit, access controls, authentication protections, secure infrastructure, logging, and monitoring.

However, no internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live and the applicable law, you may have rights including:

  • The right to access personal information we hold about you

These rights are subject to applicable legal limitations.

To exercise a privacy right, contact us using the details provided in this policy.

We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.

11. Account deletion

If BattleCommand provides account deletion functionality, you may use that functionality to request deletion of your account.

Alternatively, you may contact us using the privacy contact details above.

When an account is deleted, we will delete or anonymise associated personal information where reasonably possible and where we are not required to retain it.

Some information may need to be retained for legitimate security, fraud-prevention, legal, or accounting purposes.

12. Children's privacy

BattleCommand is intended for players aged 13 and over.

We do not knowingly allow children under the age of 13 to create BattleCommand accounts or use account-based features.

If you are under 13, please do not create an account or provide personal information to BattleCommand.

If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without an appropriate legal basis or required parental consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete that information.

Age and parental-consent requirements may vary depending on the country in which a user is located. Where applicable law requires a higher minimum age or parental/guardian consent, those requirements will apply.

If you believe that a child under 13 has provided personal information to BattleCommand, please contact us at [PRIVACY EMAIL ADDRESS] so that we can investigate and take appropriate action.

13. Changes to this Privacy Policy

BattleCommand is an evolving service. As new features, services, analytics systems, authentication methods, AI functionality, or other forms of data processing are introduced, this Privacy Policy may be updated. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be changed whenever the policy is materially updated. Where required, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before introducing new processing that requires it.
